Step O1: Create a custom post type for events

 

  1. Navigate to JetEngine > Custom Post Types in your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Click the Add New button to create a new custom post type.
  3. Enter a descriptive name for your custom post type, such as “Events” or “Upcoming Events”.
  4. Select the Singular Label and Plural Label for your custom post type. These labels will be used throughout your website to refer to individual events and multiple events, respectively.
  5. Choose the Hierarchical option if you want to create a parent-child relationship between events, allowing for subcategories or event series. For a simple event listing, leave this option unchecked.
  6. Click the Save button to create the custom post type.
Step O2: Create Custom Fields for Event Information

 

  1. Navigate to JetEngine > Custom Fields in your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Click the Add New button to create a new custom field.
  3. Select the Events custom post type you created earlier.
  4. Enter a descriptive name for your custom field, such as “Event Title”, “Event Date”, “Event Time”, “Event Location”, or “Event Description”.
  5. Choose the appropriate Field Type for your custom field. For example, use the Text Field type for event titles, dates, and times, and use the Textarea Field type for event descriptions.
  6. Provide additional options for your custom field, such as placeholder text, default value, and input mask.
  7. Click the Save button to create the custom field.
Step O3: Create Custom Templates for Event Listings

 

  1. Navigate to JetEngine > Templates in your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Click the Add New button to create a new template.
  3. Select the Events custom post type you created earlier.
  4. Choose the appropriate Template Type for your event listings. For a simple event listing, use the Listing Grid template type.
  5. Use the Crocoblock builder to design your event listing template. You can add custom fields, display event information, and style the layout to match your website’s design.
  6. Click the Save button to create the template.
Step O4: Customize Event Listings and Display

 

  1. Navigate to JetEngine > Custom Post Types > Events in your WordPress dashboard.
  2. Configure the settings for your custom post type, such as the default template, slug, and rewrite rules.
  3. Create new events using the Add New button.
  4. Use the JetEngine Listing Grid widget to display your event listings on the desired pages or sections of your website.
  5. Customize the appearance and behavior of the JetEngine Listing Grid widget using its settings panel.
Step 05: Additional Features for Eventbrite-like Functionality

 

  1. Use JetEngine’s Booking System module to sell tickets for your events.
  2. Use JetEngine’s Social Sharing widget to promote your events on social media.
  3. Use JetEngine’s Forms module to create event registration forms.
  4. Use JetEngine’s Repeater field to create recurring events.
  5. Use JetEngine’s Email module to send event reminders and notifications.
